We motored about 5 miles to the Field Club. The club house was the mansion of one of the Field’s of Marshal Field store fame of Chicago. One of the stipulations of the purchase of the property by he club was to keep the gardens of the estate. They have and the grounds are beautiful.
Sailboats coming into the facility must be careful of the depth. The Krogan only has a draft of 3’-2”. Having a centerboard boat does have its advantages.
We ate dinner at the club and the meal was excellent, as was the service. The facility is all decorated for Christmas. The pictures do not do the place justice. Tomorrow on to the Venice Yacht Club.
