Friday, we got out about 1 P. M. with plenty of water. The wind was out of the east and going away, so we motored all the way to Palafox Pier. Got a slip we could get in and out of easily, thank goodness. There are many slips there I cannot maneuver in and out of if there is any wind at all. We ate at the new restaurant at the marina. Service was great, food was ok. It is moderately priced, so one gets what they pay for. The Pelican drop was good. The fireworks were fantastic. I am a fireworks freak, and we were about a block and a half north of the pelican and the fireworks drifted with the wind directly overhead. Had paper from the rockets falling, but no heavy stuff. Perfect.

The trip back Saturday was rain and fog. The wind was off and on, so we motored home. It was a good experience for me. About half the time the fog cut visibility to less the a quarter mile. Got to use the radar and chart plotter to find my way. All went perfect. There were no other boats out there, which helped.

Ba Humbug Day is usually New Years Day. That is the day one may not feel 100%, and have to take down all the decorations. It got delayed till Sunday because of the trip home. One wonders why I put up so much to begin with. Actually, the inside stuff that the mate does is far more work. I usually have other projects that have fallen behind during the holidays to fill my day. We got it done by mid afternoon. It was packed, in the car and on it’s way to storage. Done for another year. I am now ready for spring and a lot more sailing. Surely you have notice how the days have gotten longer.
