Yep, back in the yard again. But this time it is scheduled. The list is long and expensive. The regular man who does our work is Eric. He does better then excellent work. He is doing the permanent patch for the leak we had last spring. That will be for the removal of an old Taft Log…. Google it. They will also do a bottom job and put a through hull for the brine discharge from the water maker. They were also responsible for pulling the mast and reinstalling it.

Chris our mechanic has the most work. He is replacing all hoses on the engine; new engine mounts, flushing the heat exchangers, realigning the engine and shaft.

My work includes a new VHF antenna with new coax cable and ends, install the wind generator, mast steps to get up to the generator and continue to work on the water maker installation.

So far, I have completed about 60% of the plumbing on the watermaker and have installed all parts but the Clark Pump on the watermaker. I have also pulled a new coax and installed the bracket of the new VHF antenna. That will be completed tomorrow, Friday. I will also install the bracket for the wind generator. Monday I will install the wind generator and have the mast restepted.

Eric’s wife Sue has sanded the bottom and she will paint the first coat tomorrow. Eric is to get the parts for the through hull and hopefully will get it installed tomorrow.

Then there is Chris. They took the prop, shaft and coupling back to their shop. He said I needed a new shaft. Expensive and not in the plan. The Transmission rear bearing is leaking slightly. At this point that is an easy fix. He already took every thing away from the back of the transmission. I will look at that a little more closely, but since all the hard work of getting to it is already done, we should do it. Not in the plan. I really need to get back into the water before next Friday. Being on the hard (in the yard) is expensive. You pay to occupy the ground.

Did not mention the fact that we are staying in a friends beach house. Which we will have to vacate.

Not in the plan, but better here than in the “Islands.”
